SLAF Wins Best Annual Report and Accounts Award in the Public Sector

The competition organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Auditor General’s Department aims at helping to improve the quality of annual reports and accounts issued by the public sector organizations, while also helping to enhance transparency, accountability and good governance practices within the sector.

Nine public sector institutions including universities, ministries, statutory boards, Municipal Councils and Pradeshiya Sabhas excelled for their high quality financial reporting at the third Best Annual Report and Accounts Awards 2017 organized by the Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka (APFASL), the Public Sector Wing of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka.

In total, 22 public sector organizations were honoured at the awards ceremony held on 25 October at BMICH held under the patronage of Secretary to the President Udaya R. Seneviratne and Ministry of Internal and Home Affairs and Provincial Councils and Local Government Secretary Gamini Seneviratne.

The Sri Lanka Air Force was awarded the “Best Annual Reports and Accounts award” for Public Sector in the Financial Year 2017 of the Department Category on the 25th of October 2019. The Director Administration of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal PDKT Jayasinghe accepted the award on behalf of the SLAF. The award was presented to the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias yesterday (31 October 2019) by the Command Internal Auditor, Wing Commander RR Somathilaka at Air Force Headquaters.
