“HERALI PERALIYA” ORGANIZATION PROVIDES JACK TREE SAPLINGS TO THE SLAF

The “Herali Peraliya” Organization which aspires to support "Food Self Sustenance by 2025" in Sri Lanka provided 2,500 Jack Tree Saplings to the SLAF yesterday (09 September 2021) at SLAF Base Katunayake.

The event was organized at Katunayake on the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana with the aim of planting these Jack Tree Saplings within all SLAF establishments. Yesterday’s event was held under the patronage of the Southern Air Commander and Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa with the participation of the Command Agro Officer, Group Captain Rajeev Kodippili and Commanding Officers of Lodger Formations at Katunayake. A few of the received saplings were symbolically planted withing the Base by those present for the event.

Ven Ambilipitiye Anandawansha Thero, the Adviser of the “Herali Peraliya” Organization, Chairman of the “Herali Peraliya” Organization, Squadron Leader (Retd) Manjula Fernando, Mr. Buddhika Sampath a member of the “Herali Peraliya” Organization also participated for yesterday event.

The “Herali Peraliya” Organization has joined hands with Hayleys Aventura (Private) Limited and Hayleys Power Limited in providing Jack Tree saplings to military organizations and schools around the island. Squadron Leader (Retd) Nilanga Gunaratne also participated for yesterday’s event representing the Hayleys interests in this nationally worthy cause.

The “Herali Peraliya” Organization is a nonprofit organization which aspired to support self-sustenance in Sri Lanka in terms of food by planting three (03) million Jack Tree saplings in the island by the year 2025. Members of the general public can follow their activities through their Facebook page “Herali Peraliya, Jack - The Tree of Rice” and contribute to this nationally worthy cause.
