INDIAN AIR FORCE DELIVERS NANO NITROGEN FERTILIZER CONSIGNMENT TO SRI LANKA

On the instruction of the President, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana contacted the Chief of Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari by telephone in order to arrange the immediate air freight of the second consignment of Nano Nitrogen Fertilizer from India to Sri Lanka. As a materialization of this endeavor, two C-17 Globemaster aircraft belonging to the Indian Air Force landed at the Bandaranayake International Airport during the early hours of today (04 November 2021).

The two aircraft carried a total load of approximately 100 tons of Nano Nitrogen Fertilizer which were handed over to officials of the Ministry of Agriculture for onward distribution. This air lift operation was a clear symbol of the immense cooperation and mutual understanding between the Sri Lanka Air Force and the Indian Air Force. It also highlights the great historical friendship between our great nations.

The Chief of Staff of the SLAF, the Director Air Operations and the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake were present at the Bandaranayake International Airport to receive the two IAF aircraft along with their crew.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
