SLAF excels at 58th National Badminton Championship

Sri Lanka Air Force delivered a commendable performance at the 58th National Badminton Championship held at the Royal College sports complex on 23 January, 2011.

The tournament brought together over 70 single participants and 40 pairs competing for the Doubles championship.

Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage was chief guest at the event which saw the island’s top badminton players battling it out with the shuttle.

Airman Madushanka RSK and RS Dahanayake of SLAF won their match in the Men’s Doubles, defeating Seaman Nuwan Hettiarachchi and Hasith Chanaka. Meanwhile Dinuka Karunaratna too shone at the championship by claiming a win in the Men’s Singles beating fellow teammate Airman Fernando.
