SLAF Mamaduwa assists in flood relief

Sri Lank Air Force Mamaduwa provided temporary shelter and basic facilities to civilians displaced by the floods at Kodakchkodiya in the Vavuniya district.

More than 150 families have been severely affected by the floods that prevail in the north central Province of the island which caused the villagers to seek shelter from the flood waters.

SLAF personnel under the direction of the Commading officer of SLAF Detachment Mamaduwa, Squadron Leader PSW Molligoda assisted the civilians to be immediately housed at the Kodakachchikodiya school and community hall. The troops also provided basic facilities to the individuals as they had to leave behind their homes and belongings to seek relief from floods.



Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
