Sri Lanka Air Force netballers clinched the Deyata Kirula 2011 Netball Championship at the finals held last week in Buttala.

The Air women were matched up against the team from Army in the closely contested encounter. But the SLAF team maintained their winning game from the semi finals which saw them gain a comprehensive win against Galle with 32to 17 points.

Hon. Prime Minster D.M. Jayaratne was Chief Guest at the championship where SLAF emerged winners with a two point lead. Several special awards were given presented to the players with Corporal Dhammika of SLAF being crowned ‘Netball Queen'.
