SLAF EXCELS AT THE NATIONAL CONVENTION ON QUALITY AND PRODUCTIVITY 2023

The National Convention on Quality and Productivity 2023 held on yesterday (21 November 2023), at the NIIBS Conventions Centre, was organized with the objective of promoting quality and productivity in Sri Lanka. The main aim was to encourage active employee participation and leadership roles in achieving excellence in performance. The anticipated outcomes of this initiative on a national scale include numerous advantages such as improved product quality, heightened reliability and reduced production and service costs, leading to a decrease in the overall cost of living. Ultimately, these efforts are expected to enhance the competitiveness of Sri Lankan industries on the global stage.

During this significant occasion, the Sri Lanka Air Force was honoured with the prestigious Silver Award for exemplary work in the Quality Control Circle (QCC). The winning QCC, titled "Diya Pibiduma" - "Pure Water Runs Life," was submitted by the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa.

In addition to the Silver Award, the SLAF engineers were recognized with the esteemed Gold Award for their outstanding contributions to the Quality Improvement Project Team. Specifically, their commendable efforts were highlighted in the execution of the Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy (HHOT) unit project, a project that demonstrated exceptional performance during the COVID-19 pandemic period.

The collaborative efforts highlighted during this event are a noteworthy example, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement in achieving excellence. Additionally, this illustrates the high standards upheld by the SLAF in achieving core competencies as a technical force.
