A Destination for Nature Lovers-Declared open by the President

The Air Force Resort-Marble Beach was declared open by HE the President,Mahinda Rajapaksa on 13 March 2011.

The Marble Beach Resort - a hidden treasure discovered by the SLAF at Trincomalee is poised to be an ideal holiday destination for nature lovers. This luxurious resort surrounded by lusciously green mountain peaks and a spectacular view of the Marble beach has been fully developed by the Air Force to create a close-to-nature experience for its patrons.

With the guidance and the advice of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama, Air Vice Marshal KVB Jayampathy, Commandant of the SLAF Academy China Bay took the initiative to unveil this unique holiday destination experience with luxurious separate cabanas located inside the jungle, bordering the pristine shorelines of the Marble Beach.

The Secretary of the Defense, Governor of the Eastern province, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Air Force, Commander of the Navy, Inspector General of Police,Commandant of the SLAF Academy China Bay and officers of the SLAF Academy China Bay took part in the ceremony.

The distinguish guests also visited the construction site of the "Eagle'sGolf Link", the golf course which is under construction by the SLAF.
