THE AIR CHIEF DELIVERS GUEST LECTURE TO COURSE NO. 17 STUDENT OFFICERS OF DSCSC

Upon the invitation of the Commandant of Defence Services Command & Staff College (DSCSC),Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, addressed the student officers of Course No. 17 at DSCSC in Sapugaskanda, yesterday (05 December 2023).

Course No. 17 of DSCSC consists of 148 student officers, including 72 from the Army, 26 from the Navy, 24 from the Air Force, and one from the Police. Additionally, there are 25 foreign officers from countries like Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, the United States and Zambia.

Upon arrival, the Commander of the Air Force was warmly welcomed by Commandant DSCSC, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, who guided him through the rest of the proceedings. The theme of the Commander of the Air Force's address centered on the subject of "Contemporary Global Security Landscape."

During his talk with the student officers of the Defence Services Command & Staff College, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa explored the meaning of the subject, reasons behind its occurrence, implications and facets of National Security and emphasized the way forward.

The occasion was attended by Chief Instructors at Defence Services Command & Staff College, academic and directing staff and the student officers of Course No. 17.

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, the Commander of the Air Force and Commandant DSCSC exchanged mementoes. Furthermore, Commander of the Air Force shared his remarks in the visitors' book before departing from the premises.
