NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR ENHANCES AIR TATTOO 2024 ON FINAL DAY

The fifth and final day of the 'Air Tattoo 2024' educational and technological exhibition kicked off today, (10 March 2024), at Muttraweli Ground in Jaffna. The National Security Advisor, Hon. Sagala Ratnayake graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, adding prestige to the event. Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, the Commander of the Air Force, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest.

Throughout the exhibition, schoolchildren demonstrated their fervour by delivering briefings on aircraft components and pertinent subjects to the Chief Guest. Moreover, cadets from the National Cadet Corps attended and showcased their talents through a drill display, thereby imparting significant captivation to the exhibition site. Furthermore, there was a notable engagement and profound interest displayed by the youth in Jaffna towards the recruitment initiative organized by the Air Force. Hon. Sagala Ratnayaka engaged in friendly dialogue with Jaffna youth during the Air Tattoo 2024. Additionally, Australian Defence Advisor, Colonel Amanda Johnston and other diplomats held cordial discussions with the keen schoolchildren, who provided briefings on aircraft components and related subjects at the exhibition. However, the efforts of the Sri Lanka Air Force accumulated the attention of both local and international media portals.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of notable dignitaries, including Mr. S Thirumanam, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Yalpanam, Mr. TY Sundearasan, Governor of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Yalpanam, as well as the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa. Also in attendance were members of the Air Force Board of Management, Defence Advisor of the High Commissions of Australia, Colonel Amanda Johnston, Defence Advisor of the High Commission of India, Captain Anand Mukundan, Consul General of High Commission of India in Jaffna, Mr. Sai  Murali, Diplomats from High Commission of India, Tri-forces officers and other esteemed invitees.
