The Change of Command at SLAF Base Anuradhapura was held on 16 March 2024. The outgoing Base Commander Air Commodore JMDRAP Jayamaha USP, ndc, psc, qfi handed over the command to Group Captain PN Gunathilake WWV and Bar, RWP, RSP, USP, MMS (Mil Com), MSc (Strat Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), MIM (SL), AMITD (SL), fawc, psc, qfi.

The new Base Commander, Group Captain PN Gunathilake previously executed his duties as the Base Commander of SLAF Base Vauniya.
