RUHUNU KATARAGAMA MAHA DEVALAYA EXTENDS ASSISTANCE FOR ‘MAGEN POTHAK UTHURATA' LITERACY DRIVE

The Basnayake Nilame of Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devalaya, Mr. Dishan Gunasekara, made a significant contribution of 1 million rupees in financial assistance towards supporting the 'Magen Pothak Uthurata' literacy drive in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. This generous donation was made in line with the 73rd anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The symbolic presentation of the cheque took place today (21 March 2024) at the Air Force Headquarters. During the ceremony, the cheque was presented to the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, signifying the commitment and support of the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devalaya towards promoting literacy and education in the Northern Province.
The 'Magen Pothak Uthurata' literacy drive is a sub-project of the ‘Wings of Friendship' major endeavor. Under this initiative, the goal is to provide educational resources and support to communities, particularly focusing on 'Quality Education'. As part of this effort, a remarkable donation of 73,000 books has been made to facilitate educational development in the Northern Province.
