The Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Wing of SLAF Base Ratmalana celebrated its 20th anniversary on 2 April 2011.

Celebrations commenced with a formal ceremony at which, in keeping with tradition, the oil lamp was lit by the Chief Guest Director Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Air Commodore Rohan Pathirage.

Base Commander SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Sumangala Dias also graced the occasion. The event was well attended by Officers and other ranks of the Wing including its Commanding Officer, Group Captain Bandula Herath.

The formalities were followed by various games and sports activities such as cricket, tug-of-war as well as the highly entertaining obstacle race and musical chairs which were thoroughly enjoyed by the participants.

The E&TE Wing at SLAF Base Ratmalana was established on the first day of April 1991. During the past twenty years of its existence, the E&TE wing has rendered an invaluable service to the motherland in the field of electronics.
