A New Foal to the Sri Lanka Air Force

The Mare "Gatipower" belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force, delivered her first Foal at the Stable Hill Camp on 25th May 2011 giving a historical value to the day as the first delivery of a Foal in the tri services in recent times. The Mare since its pregnancy was looked after by SLAF veterinary surgeons with lot of caring until the healthy little foal was born after 351 days.

With its arrival the number of horses in the Sri Lanka Air Force increases upto three, including the Mare and the horse "Turbonator". The little Foal was named as "AETON" (Swift as an Eagle) and is presently entertaining all visitors with its playful behavior.




The Foal is fed and cared for by Sri Lanka Air Force Diyatalawa with the view to make him a proud asset of the Air Force in the time to come.
