Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake Tech Formation and SLAF Base Katunayake team won the men’s and women’s Inter Unit Basket Ball Championship at SLAF Ekala Outdoor courts on 2nd September 2011.

Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo men and women competed in the finals but finally ended up as runner up in both categories.

Flying Officer HMTK Herath of Katunayake tech formation and Corporal Malintha P of SLAF Base Katunayake were adjudged as the best male and female players respectively.

The Vice President of Sri Lanka Basket Ball Federation Mr. Ajith Kumara graced the occasion as the Chief Guest whilst Major General Janaka Rathnayaka, the Command Sports Officer Air Commodore Harsha Fernando, Commanding Officer SLAF Ekala Group Captain Laksiri Gunawardena and Group Captain Wasantha Amarakoon were also present at the event.
