Indian National Defence College visits AFHQ

51st Course of the Indian National Defence College (NDC) arrived in Sri Lanka on 01st October 2011 under their Strategic Neighbourhood Tour Program. The delegation, headed by Senior Directing Staff (Army) Major General PK Goswami VSM, comprised of 15 flag rank officers with 10 of them accompanying their spouses. This is an annual visit and this year’s visit was coordinated by the Sri Lanka Navy.

The touring NDC Team visited the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters yesterday, 04 October 2011, as a part of their study programme, with the Delegation Head, accompanied by the Indian Defence Attaché, paying a Courtesy Call on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, at his office.

The NDC Team participated in a briefing at the AFHQ Auditorium conducted by the SLAF’s Director Air Operations, Air Vice Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala, on the history, capabilities, achievements and potential of the Sri Lanka Air Force followed by an interactive session.  

Thereafter, the NDC Team along with their spouses was hosted to a lunch at the Officers’ Mess of the Air Force Headquarters, Colombo.
