De havilland Chipmunk T MK 10
The twin seater aircraft was manufactured by the De-Haviiland aircraft company in Britain in 1949.

A total of 12 aircraft were delivered to the Royal Ceylon Air Force in 1951. Boasting a cruising speed of 119 mph powered by a Gypsy Major 10 MK2 engine, the only remaining airworthy aircraft was flown on display at the ceremony commomorating 100 years of aviation on 17 Dec 2003.

This aircraft has been the ad-initio trainer of the Air Force and many pilots of SLAF had their training in this aircraft.
