In a commendable initiative aimed at enhancing members’ welfare, five brand-new wheelchairs were officially handed over to the SLAF Ex-Servicemen’s Association (AFESA) on 20th September 2026 at the Association Office. The ceremony was attended by the President of AFESA Air Vice Marshal Hemantha Soysa (Retd) alongside several Executive Committee members.

This generous contribution was personally donated by Flight Lieutenant Omar Sheriff (Retd), currently residing in Australia, through the special coordination of Air Vice Marshal Elmo Perera (Retd). This donation stands as another meaningful welfare effort dedicated to support the health and mobility of our valued members.

The SLAF Ex-Servicemen’s Association extends its heartfelt gratitude and highest respects to Flight Lieutenant Omar Sheriff (Retd) for his exceptional generosity, and to Air Vice Marshal Elmo Perera (Retd) for seamlessly coordination of this noble cause.
