SLAF ASSISTS TO DOUSE THE FOREST FIRE
Responding to a request from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) in Badulla, the Disaster Assistance and Response Team (DART) and other personnel from the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, comprised of two officers and 39 airmen, successfully doused a large scale bushfire in the Kandepuhulpola forest area yesterday (16 February 2013).

Information regarding the fire was provided by the Disaster Management Centre Badulla in the morning and as per the instructions by the Commanding Officer SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Air Commodore Vajira Senadheera, the officers and airmen rushed to the location, where they were able to douse the fire completely after a tiring five-hour effort.
