SLAF COMBAT TRAINING SCHOOL DIYATALAWA CONDUCTS THREE DAY LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME

A three-day Leadership Development Programme was successfully conducted at the SLAF Combat Training School (CTS) Diyatalawa, from 09 May 2025 to 11 May 2025 with the participation of 88 Prefects from Ave Maria Convent – Negombo under the coordination by the Commanding Officer of SLAF CTS Diyatalawa, Air Commodore DMR Dassanayake.
In response to a request made by AVE Maria Convent, the programme was conducted by Officer Instructors and the other Instructors of the School. The programme was commenced after the address by the Acting Commanding Officer and Officer Commanding Training, Group Captain AKW Lakshman and the training programme was supervised by Chief Instructor of Cadet Training, Wing Commander LRTPB Senevirathne.
Throughout the Programme, the prefects engaged in a variety of activities such as physical training, decision making, skill development games on leadership, group discussions and motivational sessions. These sessions helped participants to develop discipline, resilience, leadership and communication skills.
In addition, an ‘Evening Camp Fire’ was conducted in order to create a platform for the participants to showcase their talents and strengthen camaraderie in a relaxed and joyful setting.
The programme concluded on a high note, with all participants gaining invaluable experiences, improved leadership potentials and cherished memories of their time at SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa.
