SPECIAL REFRESHER TRAINING PROGRAMME ELEVATES PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AT SLAF CTS DIYATALAWA

A Special Refresher Training Programme (Capsule Training) for Instructors was successfully conducted at SLAF Combat Training School, Diyatalawa. The programme was strategically structured into two segment to facilitate all posted Gunner Instructors and Drill Instructors.
A total of 113 Gunner Instructors and Drill Instructors participated in the programme, which was organized under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of SLAF CTS Diyatalawa, Air Commodore Rukman Dassanayake.
The course content covered both theoretical and practical aspects of instructional duties, including lesson preparation, presentation techniques, leadership and discipline, outdoor training methodology, evaluation methods and it included post-course administration as well. These sessions were designed to strengthen the instructors’ knowledge and sharpen their instructional skills in line with modern training requirements.
The programme was conducted by Officer Instructors together with Other Instructors of the school. Both sessions were commenced with an address by the Officer Commanding Training, Group Captain Wasantha Lakshman, and the Training Programme was supervised by the Chief Instructor of Recruit Training, Squadron Leader Mihiranga Rathnayake.
The successful completion of the Special Refresher Training Programme not only enhanced the professional competence of the instructors but also reinforced the SLAF CTS Dla’s continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards of training and development.
