SLAF COMBAT TRAINING SCHOOL DIYALAWA CONDUCTS A SPECIAL PARADE TO MARK THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF INSTRUCTORS COURSES
The Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School Diyatalawa conducted a special parade to mark the successful completion of the No.58 Drill Instructor and No.68 Gunner Instructor Techniques courses, today. (22 June 2026)

The event was graced by the Director of Internal and Public Welfare, Air Commodore Sulochana Marapperuma RWP, RSP, CQHRM, MBA in HRM, Pg Dip (HRA), MIM (SL), AMITD (SL), GI Fire E, as the Chief Guest. During the parade, a total of fifteen instructors received the distinctive Pace Sticks, while thirty Airmen earned their Lanyards and Canes, equipping them to take on new roles as Instructors in the Air Force.  Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Guest congratulated the trainees on their achievements and emphasised the importance of following the course diligently, noting that the skills gained would strengthen their professional and personal development.

The trainees showcased their exceptional skill, discipline and teamwork through a drill display, which drew praise from the audience. In addition, they presented Training Aids they had prepared during the course, reflecting their creativity and commitment to learning. 

The Commanding Officer, Group Captain, Lalith Sugathadasa, the Officer Commanding Training, Group Captain, Wasantha Lakshman along with Officers and other ranks witnessed the event. The parade was organised and conducted by Weapon Training Officer, Squadron Leader Damith Yasawardena.
