Surface Technician
Surface TechnicianThe work of the trade is concerned with aircraft surface finishes, aircraft fabrics, covers and upholstery of aircraft and MT vehicles, and painting of all kinds of technical equipment. Basic technicians will initially be employed in the manufacturing of covers and basic painting of technical equipment and vehicles. On acquiring suitable skills they will graduate to applying high-speed surface finishes to aircraft. On promotion to higher rank they will be employed in a supervisory capacity and may be called upon to perform instructional duties.

Qualifications

Passes in 06 Subjects at the G.C.E.(O/L) Examination at not more than two sittings including ordinary passes in Sinhala/Tamil language, Mathematics and Science(Mathematics II, Science II if an applicant of year 1999/2000). A credit pass for Mathematics/Science is essential.
