An airman of this trade undertakes all carpentry work in support of engineering activity of the General and Aircraft Engineering Wings. Sets and uses all standard wood working machine for this task. With a gain in experience and seniority in rank, the Tech Wood technician would undertake the manufacture of wooden models for use as training aids and also draw up repair schemes for complex wooden structures. He would undertake instructional duties in his trade on acquiring adequate experience.

Qualifications

Passes in 06 Subjects at the G.C.E.(O/L) Examination at not more than two sittings including ordinary passes in Sinhala/Tamil language, Mathematics and Science(Mathematics II, Science II if an applicant of year 1999/2000). A credit pass for Mathematics/Science is essential.
