SECRETARY TO THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE ATTENDS AIR TATTOO 2024 ON THIRD DAY

The third day of the 'Air Tattoo 2024' educational and technological exhibition kicked off today, (08 March 2024), at Muttraweli Ground in Jaffna, welcoming to the general public until 10 p.m. The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Guneratne (Retd.), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, adding prestige to the event. Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, the Commander of the Air Force, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest.

During the exhibition, schoolchildren demonstrated their enthusiasm by presenting briefings on aircraft components and other relevant topics to the Chief Guest. In addition to that, the cadets from the National Cadet Corps attended and showcased their talents through a drill display, adding much glamour to the exhibition site since the first day of the exhibition. Furthermore, there was a noteworthy level of engagement and strong interest exhibited by the youth in Jaffna towards the recruitment drive organized by the Air Force.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures including former Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala, Governor of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Yalpanam, Mr. TY Sundearasan as well as the Chief of Staff of the SLAF, members of the Air Force Board of Management, Tri-forces officers, the Principal of Bandaranaike College-Gampaha and other distinguished invitees. Notably, there was a significant presence of schoolchildren along with their parents, adding a vibrant energy to the event.
