Annual Commander’s Inspection SLAF Base Katunayake 2011

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama  conducted the Annual Commander’s Inspection at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake yesterday (17th November 2011).

The parade commanded by Base Commander, SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Ranil Gurusinghe welcomed the Commander to the Base premises.

The Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake, the largest Air Force Base in Sri Lanka, provides administrative, logistic, general and civil engineering services to all lodger formations located within the Base.

The Commander inspected the all formations within the base and appreciated the development and maintenance work carried out to prepare the Base for Commander’s inspection.

The following flying Squadrons are based at Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake.

No. 02 heavy Transport Squadron
No. 05 Jet Squadron (F -7)
No. 10 Fighter Ground Attack Squadron (KFIR)
No. 12 Squadron (MiG 27)

In addition to the above flying formations, the following formations are also located within the Base.
