SLAF TROOPS ENGAGE IN RESCUE OPERATION EXERCISE AT ELLA
The Disaster Assistance and Response Team (DART) of the Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School, Diyatalawa, in collaboration with the Disaster Management Center (DMC) Badulla and several other relevant agencies, successfully conducted a rescue operation exercise near the 15th Milepost in Ella yesterday (16 October 2025).
The joint exercise was organized to strengthen inter-agency coordination and evaluate the effectiveness of existing safety and emergency response protocols. It also served as a timely initiative following the tragic bus accident in Ella, where a passenger bus plunged nearly 1,000 feet into a ravine on 04 September 2025.
The DART team from the SLAF Combat Training School, Diyatalawa, comprising two Officers and sixteen Airmen, actively participated in the exercise, showcasing a high level of readiness, professionalism and expertise in disaster response and emergency evacuation operations.
