BANGLADESH ARMED FORCES COMPLETE AIR BASE DEFENCE TRAINING AT SLAF CTS DIYATALAWA

The Air Field and Base Defence Proficiency Course for personnel of the Bangladesh Armed Forces was successfully conducted at the SLAF Combat Training School (CTS) in Diyatalawa from 05 May to 09 July 2025. The programme spanned a period of 45 working days and included an intensive 14-day practical phase focused on Air Base Defence mechanisms, held at the SLAF Advanced Regiment Training School in Ampara.
A total of eight participants from Bangladesh took part in the training, comprising three officers and five other ranks. The course was specifically designed to enhance their knowledge and capabilities in regimental duties related to Air Base Defence. It was conducted under the guidance of the Officer Commanding Training, Group Captain Wasantha Lakshman.
The closing ceremony took place on 09 July 2025 with due formality. The Commanding Officer of the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Air Commodore Rukman Dassanayake, presided over the ceremony and awarded certificates and insignia to the participants in recognition of their successful completion of the course.
The participants expressed their sincere appreciation for the high-quality training facilities, the professionalism of the directing staff, and the overall support extended by the SLAF throughout the duration of the course. This training initiative not only contributed to the capacity-building of foreign military personnel but also served to strengthen the enduring defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, further enhancing the professional military relationship between the two nations.
