SLAF DIYATALAWA EMPOWERS FUTURE LEADERS WITH ONE-DAY LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME FOR SCHOOL PREFECTS
One-day Leadership Development Programme was successfully conducted at Sri Lanka Air Force Diyatalawa yesterday (07 August 2025) for the senior school prefects of B/Haputale Sri Dammananda Central College, Badulla. A total of 16 students both girls and boys enthusiastically participated to the programme, which was guided by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Air Commodore Rukman Dassanayake.       
                 
In response to a request made by the Principle of Sri Dammananda Central College, the programme was conducted by Officer Instructors and the Other Instructors of the School. The programme was commenced after the address by the Officer Commanding Training, Group Captain Wasantha Lakshman and the training programme was conducted by Weapon Training Officer, Squadron Leader KWP Deshan. 

The participants engaged in a variety of well-structured activities including leadership, confidence building and team-building sessions. These dynamic and interactive modules were designed to help participants to develop their critical thinking, resilience and effective communication- essential traits for successful leadership.

The programme concluded on a high note, with participants expressing their appreciation for the valuable exposure and practical learning experience provided by the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa.
