SLAF COMBAT TRAINING SCHOOL HOSTS TWO-DAY LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME FOR YOUNG CRICKETERS
A two-day Leadership Development Programme was successfully conducted at the Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School, Diyatalawa, on 20 and 21 August 2025 for the 1st XI Cricket Team of Sri Sumangala College, Panadura. A total of 20 players actively participated in the programme, which was coordinated by the Officer Commanding Training, Group Captain Wasantha Lakshman.

In response to a request from the Principal of Sri Sumangala College, Panadura, the programme was conducted by the Officer Instructors and Other Instructors of the School under the supervision of Recruit Training I, Squadron Leader JUDV Wijayarathne. The young players took part in a variety of activities, including physical training, team building and sessions on motivation, leadership and confidence building. These activities were designed to help participants develop discipline, resilience, leadership and communication skills.

Additionally, a ‘Camp Fire’ session was held to provide a platform for participants to showcase their talents and strengthen camaraderie in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

The Commanding Officer of the SLAF Combat Training School, Diyatalawa, Air Commodore Rukman Dassanayake, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Officer Commanding Training, along with officers and instructors, attended the closing ceremony. The programme concluded on a high note, with participants expressing their appreciation for the valuable exposure and practical learning experience provided by the SLAF Combat Training School, Diyatalawa.
