The "Guwan Manudam" Housing Project, initiated by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, aims to enhance the quality of life for the beneficiaries of service members who passed away after 2009. As part of this endeavor, a house has been constructed and completed for the late Corporal Jinadasa BKCP, who unfortunately passed away on 21 April 2010. The ceremony was held yesterday (19 June 2023) at Moragahahena, Millewa, where the house was officially presented to the respective family, under the auspices of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana.
The funding for the project was provided by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, while the construction was carried out by the capable team at SLAF Base Ratmalana. The successful completion of the overall project was made possible under the directives of the Director General of Civil Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Udula Wijesinghe and the supervision of the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Amal Perera.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of individuals, including the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana, the President of Seva Vanitha Unit SLAF Base Ratmalana, Mrs. Sharmila Samaranayake, the Secretary of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Wing Commander Suresh Fernando as well as the dedicated staff of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit. Additionally, a limited number of officers and other ranks from SLAF Base Ratmalana also attended the event.
