The 55th phase of the 'Guwan Mithudam' project concluded successfully yesterday (25 May 2023), at the Arklow Children's Home in the Gampaha District. The project was carried out under the guidance of Mrs. Charmini Pathirana, the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, by SLAF Base Katunayake.


The second phase of the "Guwan Gunadam" project completed under the guidance of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana, in view of uplifting the living standards of the civil employees who are serving in Sri Lanka Air Force establishments.


The SLAF Seva Vantha Unit at SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, organized a Shramadana Campaign and Almsgiving program at the Dr. & Mrs. BS Jayawardana Boys Development Centre, Ja-ela yesterday (12 May 2023).


The "Guwan Manudam" Housing Project has been launched with the aim of providing housing for the families of serving members who have deceased after the year 2009, as well as improving the quality of life for their beneficiaries.

As a part of this initiative, a complete house was constructed for the late Sergeant Bandara EMRW, who passed away on 21 October 2021. This project was carried out under the auspices of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and was presented to the children of the late Airman, as his spouse had also passed away. The house warming ceremony was held yesterday (10 May 2023) at Ulpathgama, Galenbidunuwewa, with the presence of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana, as the Chief Guest.


The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit in collaboration with SLAF Station Colombo, staged ‘Vesak Bethi Gee Saraniya 2023’, on 6th May 2023 at the ‘Rifle Green’ Grounds, SLAF Station Colombo.


A High Tea was hosted by Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana for Chief of the Air Staff of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and the President Indian Air Force Wives Welfare Association,


The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, together with the Directorate of Health Services, organized a one-day workshop for premarital and newly married couples of SLAF in view of providing them with better knowledge and understanding to lead a successful married life. The programme was conducted yesterday (27 April 2023) at SLAF Base Katunayaka.



The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit organized a comprehensive training program at the Clippers Hair and Beauty Salon in Guwanpura yesterday (24 April 2023), under the guidance of its Chairperson, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. The training program was specifically designed for the beauticians working at the Clippers Hair and Beauty Salon and was conducted by a renowned expert in the field, Mrs. Nayana Karunarthne.

The partially constructed house of Corporal Pathiranage J (deceased), who died on 24 December 2022  was fully renovated and completed under the patronage of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and handed over to the spouse of the deceased Airman. The house warming ceremony held today (06 April 2023) at Sri Saddathissa Mawatha, Kindelpitiya, with the participation of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana as the Chief Guest.


The 54th phase of the 'Guwan Mithudam' project was successfully accomplished yesterday (31 March 2023) at the B/ Kahataruppa Maha Vidyalaya located
