AWARENESS AND COUNSELLING PROGRAMME FOR PREGNANT AND NEWLY MARRIED LADIES AT TRADE TRAINING SCHOOL EKALA

A successful Awareness and Counseling programme for pregnant and newly married ladies was held yesterday (28 November 2023) at the Airmen and Airwomen Social Club at SLAF Trade Training Service Ekala. This informative event was conducted under the guidance of the President of the Seva Vanitha Unit at SLAF Trade Training School, Ekala, Squadron Leader Prasanthika Gayani De Mel (Retd). The event witnessed the involvement of a diverse audience, comprising Lady Officers, Airwomen and the spouses of service personnel.


The primary goal of the programme was to empower and educate pregnant and newly married ladies on various aspects of their journey, imparting valuable insights. The event aimed to address physical and emotional well-being, family planning and offer a platform for open discussions.

During the inaugural session, a delightful and nutritious lunch was provided to pregnant ladies, emphasizing the importance of nutrition for their well-being. The second session, led by Mrs. Krishanthi Premalal and Mrs. Lakshika Hapuarachchi, both experienced midwives, unfolded as an informative awareness programme. This session catered to the needs of both pregnant and newly married ladies, offering valuable insights into crucial aspects of their health and well-being.
