A special donation programme was successfully conducted today (30 December 2025) at the St. Joseph’s Girls’ Child Development Centre in Negombo under the guidance of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe.
The programme was organized in line with the Christmas season, with the intention of extending support beyond flood relief efforts, while embodying the true spirit of Christmas — compassion, hope and sharing. The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. During the visit, the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit donated dry rations and Christmas hampers, while also providing refreshments for all the children of the Development Centre.
In addition, a comprehensive clean-up programme covering the entire premises of the St. Joseph’s Girls’ Child Development Centre was carried out by SLAF Base Katunayake, under the supervision of the Base Commander, Air Commodore Amitha Jayamaha.
The event was attended by the Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Amitha Jayamaha, the Secretary of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Wing Commander Lilangi Randeni, along with members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, officers and other ranks of SLAF Base Katunayake.
