The Seva Vanitha Unit of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Ratmalana conducted a School Items Donation Programme under the theme “Akurata Sahayak” yesterday (26 January 2026) for 50 students of Rajagiri Maha Vidyalaya in the Aranayake, Dippitiya area, which was recently affected by a landslide and Cyclone Ditwa.

The programme aimed to assist children from affected families by supporting their educational needs and providing basic household assistance. Accordingly, school items, vouchers for the purchase of school shoes, and dry ration packs were distributed among the selected students.

This programme was carried out with the support received from several donors. Appreciation is extended to the Old Boys’ Batches of 2006 (O/L) and 2009 (A/L) of Holy Cross College, Kalutara, for their contribution. Appreciation is also extended to Mr. Kevin Hedricus, Ms. Romani Hendricus, and their team from Italy for their support.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the President of the Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Base Ratmalana, Mrs. Dilani Jayaweera, with the support of the Base Commander, Air Commodore Dinesh Jayaweera.
The assistance provided through this programme brought timely support to students from families affected by the recent landslide and Cyclone Ditwa in the Aranayake area.
