SEVA VANITHA UNIT RECEIVES VALUABLE DONATION TO SUPPORT FLOOD-AFFECTED SCHOOL CHILDREN

The Seva Vanitha Unit was able to further strengthen its support to schoolchildren affected by recent floods by taking over a consignment of educational donations contributed by Sri Lankan workers residing in the Republic of Korea.

The donation initiative was organized under the voluntary humanitarian programme “Shilpa Yathra”, formed by Sri Lankan employees working in South Korea, with the aim of assisting children whose education was disrupted due to severe flooding and disaster situations in several parts of the country. The donated educational items, valued at over Rs. 20 million, included school exercise books, pens, pencils and school bags for primary and secondary schoolchildren.

Upon taking over the donations, the Seva Vanitha Unit aims to coordinate the distribution process to ensure that the educational materials reach the most affected schools and deserving children in a transparent, timely and effective manner. This initiative is expected to ease the difficulties faced by affected families and help children continue their education without interruption.
