Seva Vanitha | Sri Lanka Air Force

The Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit successfully concluded its donation programme conducted in response to theimpact of Cyclone Ditwa, extending timely and meaningful assistance to affected civilians and service personnel.

As part of the final phase of the programme, SVU distributed school books and essential stationery to children in affected areas, ensuring the continuation of their education with minimal disruption.

Items such as school bags, exercise books, stationery and other learning materials were provided in coordination with relevant government authorities and school administrations, enabling a well-organized and equitable distribution process.

The programme benefited a number of schools across the affected regions, where students received the necessary educational support to resume their academic activities with confidence. This effort not only addressed immediate needs but also contributed to restoring normalcy and motivation among school children.

This phase was successfully carried out with the generous support of the South Korean Sri Lankan Association and the Team of Musicians of Sri Lanka, whose valuable contributions greatly enhanced the impact of this initiative.

The successful implementation of the entire donation programme was made possible through the dedicated support and coordination of the Commanding Officers of SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, SLAF Disaster Management Training School Digana, SLAF Station Pidurutalagala, SLAF Station Palaly, SLAF Station Palavi, SLAF Station Iranamadu, and SLAF Regiment Training Center Ampara, whose commitment ensured the smooth execution of all phases of the programme.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Chairperson Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe. Future initiatives will focus on the development of school infrastructure, enhancement of educational facilities and provision of resources such as computer equipment, with the aim of creating a more conducive learning environment and ensuring a sustainable future for school children.
