A Specialized Training Programme on HydraFacial and Nail Technology was successfully conducted for 22 SLAF beauticians, with the Certificate Awarding Ceremony held on 17 August 2026 at Horizon Hall, Air Force Headquarters. The initiative was introduced as an idea of Mrs Krishanthi Edirisinghe, Chairperson, Seva Vanitha Unit and conducted under the Capital Welfare Project Division (CWPD).
The initiative was introduced with the vision of enhancing the professional knowledge, practical skills and confidence of SLAF beauticians, while reflecting the concept of “Skill Wings”, which promotes skill development and opportunities for personal and professional growth. The programme covered HydraFacial Technology and Advanced Acrylic & Gel Nail Technology, providing participants with theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical training in modern beauty-care techniques. The training was conducted with the professional expertise of “Chalmway International Beauty Academy”, under the guidance of Mrs Chandani Bandara.
The initiative received the valuable support and encouragement of Air Vice Marshal L.H. Sumanweera, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force, contributing to the successful implementation of this professional development initiative. The Certificate Awarding Ceremony recognized the dedication and achievement of the participating beauticians, marking another meaningful step towards empowering personnel through skills, knowledge and opportunities while enhancing professional standards within the Sri Lanka Air Force.
