SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT LAUNCHES YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME IN COLLABORATION WITH KDU TOASTMASTERS CLUB

The Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, in collaboration with the KDU Toastmasters Club, commenced a Youth Leadership Programme aimed at empowering the children of serving Sri Lanka Air Force personnel by enhancing their leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

The inaugural session of the programme was held on 12 September 2026, marking the commencement of a five-weekend programme comprising ten interactive sessions. The programme has been designed to develop participants’ confidence, communication abilities, leadership qualities, teamwork and overall personal development.

The initiative was conceptualized by the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Krishanthi Edirisinghe, with the vision of creating a meaningful platform for the children of Air Force personnel to develop essential life and leadership skills from an early age. The inaugural session was attended by the Secretary Seva Vanitha Unit, Wing Commander Lilangi Randeni, officers of the Seva Vanitha Unit, officials of the KDU Toastmasters Club and the participating children. The occasion was further enriched by the keynote address delivered by Mr Praveen Nanayakkara, who inspired the young participants to embrace leadership, build self-confidence and pursue continuous personal development.

Through this initiative, the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit continues to strengthen its commitment towards the well-being, development and empowerment of Air Force families, while investing in the potential of the younger generation to become confident, responsible and capable leaders of tomorrow.
