Seva Vanitha | Sri Lanka Air Force

The Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit celebrated World Children’s
Day 2026 under the theme “Dreams Take Flight”, with celebrations
organised across Sri Lanka Air Force establishments islandwide
to bring happiness and unforgettable memories to the children
of serving Air Force personnel.

Conducted under the guidance of the Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit with the support and encouragement of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, the celebrations reflected the SLAF’s commitment to the wellbeing of its service families, recognising that the happiness of their children is an integral part of the strength and unity of the Air Force community.

The celebrations featured various recreational activities and entertainment programmes, providing opportunities for children to enjoy themselves, strengthen friendships and share precious moments with their families and peers.

While extending its care to children in the wider community, the SVU ensured that the children of its own service families were equally remembered and celebrated. This commitment was further reflected in the separate “Dreams Take Flight” initiative organised for the children of Thanneyaya Primary School, Badalkumbura, on 09 and 10 October 2026.

Through these initiatives, the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing young minds, supporting service families and extending compassion to the wider community.
