The Sir Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) organized the National Water Polo Championship 2023, which took place from 29 October to 30 October 2023, at the Air Force Aquatics sports complex, Ratmalana. The Air Force Men’s team claimed the title of National Water Polo Championship consecutively for the second years with a score of 15 - 08 in the final against Royal College Union Aquatics Club while  the Air Force Women’s team also won the title of National Water Polo Championship and claimed the trophy after fifteen years.

A total of 9 aquatic clubs under men’s category and 3 clubs from women’s category contested for the title. The secretary of the SLAF Aquatic Pool, Group Captain Sameera Lankathilake graced the final encounter as the chief guest.
