Thousands of people assembled ‘Muthukumaru Ground’ on 5th April 2012 at Diyatalawa to enjoy the evening in the eve of the "Sinhala & Tamil New Year" with “Guwan Miyesiya” which was organized under the direction of the Commanding Officer Group Captain Janaka Amerasinghe together with Sri Lanka Air Force Service Personnel as per the concept inspired by the Commander of the SLAF Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama.

Diyatalawa was filled with the melodious voices of Bhathiya, Santhush, Ashanthi, Randheer, Anne Danieal, Weraliyadda, Laxman Hilmi and Deepal Silva.

Spectators were hilarious by the vibrant performances made by ‘Ranganavo’ and SLAF Dancing troupe since people of the Badulla, Bandarawela and Diyatalawa region did not have a chance of enjoying an occasion of this nature. Music was provided by Centigrades and Sunshine bands.
