Commanders’ Annual Inspection at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda - 2012
The
Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama conducted
the annual Commanders’ Inspection at Sri Lanka Air Force Base
Hingurakgoda today (7th June 2012).
The
Commander, upon arrival for the inspection, was welcomed to the Base
premises through a Street Lining and the Commander of the Air Force
reviewed the parade which was commanded by the Base Commander.
The
Commander, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama inspected the four
independent lodger formations of the Base, No 07 Helicopter Squadron, No
09 Attack Helicopter Squadron, No 02 Supply and Maintenance Depot and
25 Regiment Wing.
During the tour of inspection, the Commander ceremonially opened the Cafeteria and Recreation Club –Sky Lounge - which has been completed with a non public investment of approximately Rs 6m.
The
Commander also declared open ‘Restaurant and Farm products Sales
Outlet’- Sky Choice - in Hingurakgoda which has been completed with a
non public investment of approximately Rs 1.5m. This is now open to public.
New
Hospital Ward and, the Sub Guardroom which gives access to the Sky Agro
were also declared open by the Commander during the visit.
Bhodi Mandhiraya at Buddhist Centre at Hingurakgoda which has been constructed with the main sponsorship of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda was declared open for the public-worship by the Commander of the Air Force at a ceremony held with a large public gathering.
