Formation Day - Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake

Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake Celebrated its 61st Formation Day on 28th September, 2012.The celebrations commenced with the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore DLS Dias inspecting the parade.Furthermore a number of sports activities and community welfare programmes were also organized with the participation of all ranks and civilian staff of the Base.
 
A shramadana campaign was held at the Rathanasara Vidyalaya, the Buddhist School and the Roman Catholic School at the Ardiambalama on 29th September, 2012. A coastal cleanup programme was also conducted at the Negombo beach in liaison with Marine Environment Authority on 11th September, 2012.

The formation day culminated with a musical show that was held for the service and civilian staff and their families.
