Annual AOC’s Inspection of the SLAF Unit Weerawila
The Commander of the Air Force
Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama conducted the Annual AOC’s Inspection of the
SLAF Unit Weerawila.The Commander upon arrival for the inspection, was
received into the camp premises by the Commanding Officer, Gp Capt MDJ
Wasage through a street lining of airmen commanded by Fg Off RD
Gunawardane.
The Commander started the inspection with a briefing of the Commanding Officer regarding the development process of the unit. During his inspection the Commander declared open the newly constructed Unit Welfare Complex which consisted of a Canteen, Barber Shop and a Tailor Shop. After completing the inspection within the Unit premises the Commander visited the ongoing Cafeteria Project, Airmen Holiday Cottages, and the Officers’ Holiday Home construction site at the SellaKatharagama.
After returning to the Unit the Commander addressed all ranks of the Unit. He commended them on the enormous task done at the unit and emphasized that the standards of the unit need to be maintained in this high level at all times. Finally the Commander attended an all ranks lunch at the newly renovated Airmens’ Mess before departing the unit.
