SLAF Base Katunayake Tech Formation team emerged as the winners of the Air Force Inter Unit Squash Championship which was worked off at the Squash Courts Complex at SLAF Base Ratmalana on 19th October 2012.

Thrashing the contending finalists from SLAF Base Anuradhapura team, the five member team from Katunayake performed exceptionally well to clinch the winning title.

Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal Anura Silva graced the occasion as the Chief Guest whilst the Chairman SLAF Squash Air Cdre MLK Perera and Base Commander of Air Force Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Sagara Kotakadeniya, also witnessed the finals.

The Champion Katunayake Tech Formation team consisted of Sqn Ldr LMCB Nissanka, Sqn Ldr KAASK Munasinghe, Flt Lt HMTK Herath, Flt Lt AGBP Kumarasinghe and Flt Lt HDAD Perera.

The Open tournament was conducted under five categories such as Men’s Novices, Women’s Novices, Men’s Open, Intermediate Men’s Open (over 35) and Veteran Men’s Open (over 45). The results of the open tournament are as follows.
