SLAF conducts Fire Drill at Hilton Residence

The Fire and Rescue Unit of the Sri Lanka Air Force carried out a fire drill at Hilton Residence, Colombo on 08th February, 2013.

30 SLAF personnel participated in the fire fighting and rescue exercise was carried out with the Officer in Charge of the SLAF Fire Unit, Flight Lieutenant RCN Ranneththi giving the necessary guidance and instructions right throughout the exercise.

The SLAF firemen demonstrated several rescue tactics such as aerial rope rescue and high angle rescue using the Bronto sky-lifter.
 
The Chief Fire Officer of the SLAF Group Captain PMCP Dias was also present at the demonstration.

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
