The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, conducted the annual AOCs inspection at SLAF Base Ratmalana this morning (11th March 2013). The AOCs Parade was commanded by the Base Commander, Air Commodore HMSKB Kotakadeniya.

11 SNCOs, 3 Corporals, 2 Leading Aircraftmen and 1 Civilian received Commendation from the Commander for their meritorious contribution to the Base in particular and to the Air Force in general.    

The newly constructed hangar of the No. 04 Squadron which was constructed by the Air Field Construction Wing was declared open by the Commander during the inspection. The Command Research Library at the Air Force Museum was also declared open by the Commander. The new state of the art Information Technology Wing which consists of training labs, hardware workshop, electronic workshop, software labs, server room, network workshop and a network section at the Base was declared open by the Commander. The customary address by the Commander to the personnel was made at the No. 8 Sqn hangar on completion of the inspection.
