A Newly Constructed Complex Opened by the Commander of the Air Force
Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama declared open a newly constructed building complex which houses a Gymnasium, Welfare shop and the Rifle Green Pub at SLAF Station Colombo on 13th March 2013.
This complex was completely designed and built by the personnel of the Directorate of Civil Engineering of the SLAF. The complex is very eye catching especially at night and designed to depict a cross section of an aircraft.
The Station Welfare shop at the complex would give the personnel the opportunity to buy essential items at concessionary prices. The “Rifle Green Pub” and the Gymnasium provides the personnel with recreational facilities that are second to none in the Colombo area.
The Chief of Staff Air Vice Marshal KA Gunatilleke, members of the AFBM, the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Colombo Air Commodore KFR Fernando and senior officers were present at the opening.
