The Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama declared open the newly constructed holiday home at Nuwara Eliya on 23 March 2013 which was totally designed and built by the Civil Engineering Directorate of the Sri Lanka Air Force. The picturesque view and the lush green surroundings will no doubt attract holiday dwellers to Nuwara Eliya to enjoy the latest facilities available in the holiday home in the cool salubrious climes of ‘Little England’.  

The Chief of Staff Air Vice Marshal KA Gunatilleke, Director Logistic AVM KVB Jayampathy, Director Civil Engineering AVM CR Gurusinghe, Commanding Officer AFCW Gp Capt HWMU Wijesinghe, the Actg Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Diyatalawa Wg Cdr SPVK Senadeera and Commanding Officer SLAF Unit Piduruthalagala Sqn Ldr IWDS Wickramaarachchi were also present at the opening.
